The Kite Runner Chapters 18-20
The growth that we have seen in Amir is that he is more mature and is learning that he needs to make hard choices in life that are not always involving him. This is related to him moving to America which has contributed to his growth. My reaction to the state of Kabul was that it was in ruins and really torn down.

The Kite Runner -Chapters 8-9
. What are your thoughts around Amir now? Has he taken steps towards making things with Hassan right? or has he made them worse? Explain.
I think that he has made things with Hassan worse even though Hassan is trying to make things better, and he would ignore him. He keeps making it seem like Hassan has done something wrong to him. He is constantly looking for a reason for him to be upset with Hassan.
2. Obviously Amir is struggling to with his actions. What was the purpose of the scene with the pomegranates? What is Amir searching for from Hassan?
Amir is frustrated and just wants the situations with him and Hassan to be even. They will never be equal because even if Hassan threw the pomegranate, he still watched Hassan get raped. He is looking for some aggression from Hassan.
3. Characterization: what do we learn further about Amir, Hassan, and Assef in this section?
Amir- he is a coward, and seems like he will be a bystander his whole life. He still wont confront his problems but will confront them when no one is listening.
Hassan- He is taken advantage of, he seems to try and fix the problems with Amir but Amir has no intentions of fixing the problems
Assef- he is a very sneaky person, he looks like a model child from the outside but he really is an evil person.

Include an image w/explanation that you think embodies these two chapters.
- This image embodies these sections because Hassan confessed what happened to Ali, Amir tried to confess when nobody was listening. Rahim Khan "confessed" his past to Amir. I feel like so far everything has been about secrets. As a reader, we know everything but there are some secrets kept between characters.

Theme #6 Return & Reflect
1. With theme 6, I think that I did very well with this theme. For this theme, I did the most planning and preparing and working ahead of time. One of the issues I have always had with themes was time management and for this theme i did several drafts, I looked over the assignment and made sure i was doing what the assignment asked. I wrote about something personal, so I had more to say and was able to better express myself.
2. With the TMD project, overall, I think that our group did really well. For my own part, I put a lot of time and effort into the project. One issue that I had with time management. Because the project was three parts, it was hard for me to realize where to start. Once i figured out where i wanted to start, and planned out the project it all flowed because I already had all the information. All i needed was how i was going to convey the information.
3. My expectations for the 4th marking period, are to continue with independent reading and class readings. I will have to make sure i keep up with all of the work. Last marking period , not doing one assignment could have killed my grade, but overall I have made progress with keeping up to date with assignments so that is something i expect out of myself for the fourth marking period. I don't expect this marking period to be easy because it is the last, so i have to make sure i don't get lazy.

Ir Blog Post 3
Once that Sarah realizes that her husbands life is in Jeopardy she starts praying. She was afraid and paranoid that if she heard that an australian man was dead that it would be her husband. Her husband was in Pakistan, and was afraid of the possible outcomes because of the upcoming war that was going to be in Afghanistan. It is interesting how people turn to religion when times get tough. It seems as though Sarah has been open to all types of religions and somewhat experimenting with one that she truly believes in but she seems to be an easy going person and go along with whatever.

Bollywood seems like it would be as glamorous as Hollywood is but in order to get there, you have to get through alot.
"The approach to Film City is hardly a boulevard of glamour. The road is awash with mud and mashed rubbish..."
In India, the strive to have something similar to what we have. While there are so many people living in poverty alongside people who are making big bucks; sacrifices are made, but only to benefit those that are already making money. Bollywood is in the center of the slums, and all of those people are aware of what they will most likely never have.

"The megastar owes millions in taxes and had to take the job as Rupert Murdoch. The Big B is the host of the Indian version of Who wants to Be a Millionaire, or Kown Banega Crorepati. With an audience of up to twenty- eight million.(234)" This passage was chosen because it seems to be a direct connection to something that i am used too.
I have seen the movie slumdog milionaire, and it seems that they are describing the same exactly circumstances. Bollywood and the Indian TV industry is discussed. Alot of the stereotypes discussed I have noticed are actually present in Indian films that i have seen parts of.

This image of the New delhi gate represents, the time that Sarah and her now husband Jonathan are spending their time. She has changed alot. She says that people of New delhi don't really respect her. In my opinion i don't think that people don't respect her but she is just treated differently than she would be if she were in America. Someone makes a comment that she is practically indian. This is because of her hair and the clothes she wears, which seems superficial; but she does take this comment as a compliment. She is now know as the partner who travels and writes. So basically she is viewed as dependent on her husband which isn't what she wanted.
