Once that Sarah realizes that her husbands life is in Jeopardy she starts praying. She was afraid and paranoid that if she heard that an australian man was dead that it would be her husband. Her husband was in Pakistan, and was afraid of the possible outcomes because of the upcoming war that was going to be in Afghanistan. It is interesting how people turn to religion when times get tough. It seems as though Sarah has been open to all types of religions and somewhat experimenting with one that she truly believes in but she seems to be an easy going person and go along with whatever.

Bollywood seems like it would be as glamorous as Hollywood is but in order to get there, you have to get through alot.
"The approach to Film City is hardly a boulevard of glamour. The road is awash with mud and mashed rubbish..."
In India, the strive to have something similar to what we have. While there are so many people living in poverty alongside people who are making big bucks; sacrifices are made, but only to benefit those that are already making money. Bollywood is in the center of the slums, and all of those people are aware of what they will most likely never have.

"The megastar owes millions in taxes and had to take the job as Rupert Murdoch. The Big B is the host of the Indian version of Who wants to Be a Millionaire, or Kown Banega Crorepati. With an audience of up to twenty- eight million.(234)" This passage was chosen because it seems to be a direct connection to something that i am used too.
I have seen the movie slumdog milionaire, and it seems that they are describing the same exactly circumstances. Bollywood and the Indian TV industry is discussed. Alot of the stereotypes discussed I have noticed are actually present in Indian films that i have seen parts of.

This image of the New delhi gate represents, the time that Sarah and her now husband Jonathan are spending their time. She has changed alot. She says that people of New delhi don't really respect her. In my opinion i don't think that people don't respect her but she is just treated differently than she would be if she were in America. Someone makes a comment that she is practically indian. This is because of her hair and the clothes she wears, which seems superficial; but she does take this comment as a compliment. She is now know as the partner who travels and writes. So basically she is viewed as dependent on her husband which isn't what she wanted.

WAR IN LEBANON
This video shows Isreali war crimes in Lebanon. Sarah coming from America going to India, says that she feels powerless, but she meets 22 year old Avishi, who was part of the Isreali army. He says " Here in India, I feel like I'm king of the world." It is a different experience coming from a war zone to somewhere that in his perspective is peaceful. Sarah realizes that she is more peaceful than she originally thought. It truly takes meeting someone who has gone through something, to realizes that your problems are not as bad as theirs.

"You are very shanti, I am very shanti, India is very shanti, the hash is very shanti.""Shanti is hindi for peace. I find india anything but shanti--in fact I find it loud, intrusive, brash, impatient and confronting."(165)
I chose this passage because it shows how after spending a long period of time in India, Sarah still is some what closed minded to the ideas around being in India. There are many peaceful places to go and things to experience. She is stubborn and only sees India for the bad things. She meets people who are nice to her, people that she doesn't even know. They say that they have powerful strong feelings towards her. This is weird to me because Sarah doesn't seem very passionate about anything, yet this stranger seems very passionate about her. Sarah says that India makes her feel powerless. All these thoughts are very shocking to me when you consider the emotions and feelings of everyone else around her.

Obstacles /Challenges
Tweet: To sierra, so far the obstacles that we have faced while in Peru was Alberto, and I running out of money. I also seem to get sick very often. These aspects have influenced our trip in terms of how long we stay in one place, and how we get around.
